BAND BIOS Jeff Meierer plays mandolin and provides lead and back-up vocals. Jeff was born in Niagra Falls, NY and was raised in Charleston, SC. Jeff spent many years doing solo gigs on guitar & harmonica. After shaking hands with Bill Monroe, the father of bluegrass music, he fell in love with the mandolin and has been playing it ever since. There is not much in life that he loves more than playing & listening to bluegrass music. Jeff & his wife Kristen met at Clemson University. Their kids Jake & Ben are raised in a loving bluegrass home! Kristen Meierer plays stand-up acoustic bass for YeeHaw Junction. Kristen was born and raised in Eustis, FL, a small town not far from Yeehaw Junction, FL, our band’s namesake. Kristen decided to learn how to play guitar when she was young. After marrying Jeff in 1998, she used their wedding money to buy her first upright bass. She’s been thumping away ever since. Kristen’s CPA business keeps her busy when she’s not playing music or chasing Jake & Ben. David Brown - “Nicest Man in Town” - plays fiddle and sings baritone vocals for YeeHaw Junction. Born to a musical family near Asheville, NC, David also plays piano, trumpet, guitar, and classical violin. David also enjoys singing in his church choir. He's been playing fiddle in the Charleston area since 1982. David and his wife Sarah live in Alvin, SC Don Pippins plays rhythm guitar and sings lead & tenor harmony vocals for YeeHaw Junction. Don was born in Monroe, Louisiana and grew up farming with family. Through his 28 plus year career in Construction Management, job relocation's have allowed he and his family travel and live in many states. He and his wife Anita currently reside in the Charleston area. Bluegrass influences include Flatt and Scruggs, Doyle Lawson, J.D. Crowe and Jimmy Martin to name a few. Michael Bruner plays a solid banjo for YeeHaw Junction. Besides his accomplishments on the banjo, Michael is an artistic glass blower. |
